She has served as a student teacher, substitute teacher, general education teacher, special education teacher, department head, instructional coach and academic counselor thus far in the field of education. Melanie has been married to her husband Eddie since 2014 and they share two beautiful children - ages 8 and 5. Growing her children up to be intelligent, well-mannered members of society is of great importance to Melanie. During her family time, Melanie enjoys consignment sale shopping, traveling, going to concerts, gardening, playing games and puzzles, being outdoors with her children and spending time with family and friends.
Recently, with the shortage of highly qualified teachers and the increased gap in student learning, Melanie has found a dire need for personalized educational services in order to help students be more successful in their educational journey. She is very passionate about building relationships with students, ENGAGING and MOTIVATING them to learn, while EMPOWERING them to continue learning and MENTORING them while they spread the importance of learning to others. In response to this critical need, EM² Learn was born.
"My daughter is in the 9th grade and has an IEP. She was really struggling with core subjects by the time we met Melanie. I remember their first tutoring session. Melanie organized her electronic and physical notebooks, got familiar with class contents, set rules and expectations and there they went.
As we approach the end of our first school year together, my daughter is an As and Bs 9th grader! Melanie's sensitivity and interest to get to know the student she is working with and her ability to establish a great rapport first, along with the quality of her work, her ability to overcome "tough days/moods" from students with her attention to detail, patience, dedication in and out of tutoring time, her constant recognition of her student's work, talents and skills and her ability to guide me as a parent when it comes to advocating for my daughter's best interest have been a game changer- a LIFE saver for us!! I would 1000% recommend Melanie as a teacher and tutor!" -Proud parent in Prosper, TX
