An educational consultant, often called an academic coach/advisor or tutor, assists students (alongside their parents or guardians) by offering different types of educational services at various stages of the academic journey.
Educational consultants offer more than just tutoring services. Whether the student loves learning or finds education more challenging, an educational consultant can provide enhancement or intervention when needed in order to meet the student's individual needs. In addition, an educational consultant can help make learning fun and can help the student prepare for an educational future.
We can step in to help a family at any point in a student's educational journey. For proactive services such as high school and college planning, it is important to know that many courses build on one another, so the sooner planning starts, the better it is for the student. For services in response to challenging classes, the student sees the most benefit when services begin right after the challenge presents. Though not legally required, it is recommended that if special education evaluation and/or services are considered for a student, it helps to reach out to an educational consultant as soon as possible so that we can help set the student up for educational success from the beginning.
Email or call to schedule a free consultation. Services are primarily held virtually for the sake of convenience, but is ultimately based on the needs of the student.
In some circumstances - consultations with younger students, for example - a visit to the student's home is warranted for services.
On occasion, services could also be held at local libraries or coffee shops when face-to-face consultation is needed.
For students in high school or college, virtual services could be scheduled during study hall, Power Hour Lunch or another convenient opportunity in the student's daily school schedule.
Educational consulting can encompass a multitude of services based on student needs. Please reach out and ask if there is a service that you believe would be beneficial to your family and is not mentioned on our website. We are always seeking feedback to add services requested in order to best help students be successful.
